Heterotopic Ossification After Prestige-LP Cervical Disc Arthroplasty Is Related to Insufficient Sagittal Coverage of the Endplate By the Prosthesis

Figure 3 A 51-year-old man with C5/6 Prestige-LP cervical disc arthroplasty. Preoperative flexion and extension roentgenographs indicated that preoperative segmental ROM=4.23° (A, B). Postoperative flexion and extension roentgenographs indicated that postoperative replacement segment ROM=5.9°; the posterior margin of the upper prosthesis-endplate distance was 4.1 mm, and the posterior margin of the lower prosthesis-endplate distance was 2.4 mm (C, D). Postoperative flexion and extension roentgenographs after 36 months indicated that replacement segment ROM=4.39° (E, F), and the postoperative 36-month roentgenograph showed McAfee Grade III HO (G, arrow).
