We tested the influence of ciprofloxacine (5 and 20 mg/kg i.v.), pefloxacine (5 and 20 mg/kg i.v.) and ofloxacine (100 mg/kg p.o.) on the EEG of a rabbit. The MRF and frontal cortex are structures which are most sensitive to fluoroquinolone activity. They influence the power frequency range between 0.5-4 cps to the highest degree. The influence on the remaining recordings is strongly differentiated and depends on the drug and its dose. The Pharmaco-EEG profile of fluoroquinolones is difficult to determine.
