Abstract

Authors of the article are presenting a 59-years-old woman who since several years has been suffering from headache and pain of the neck part of the vertebral column. At the same time, the patient showed neurological symptoms due to disturbances of the vertebral right artery and basilar artery. She was treated by means of the blocking ganglion stellate, starting with every day treatment through the therapy applied once or twice per week. This proved to be a successful analgetic procedure combined with additional clonide treatment. The treatment was administered until surgery. According to the authors, the herein described blocking ganglion stellate method is efficient in treating acute and chronic pains that are linked with degenerative spondylopathy and artery disorders. The method seems to be a good alternative treatment of choice administered prior to a surgery. No complications related to the blocking were detected.
